Elisabeth Turmo - Violin

Elisabeth Turmo is a Norwegian violinist currently living in London. She is a graduate from the Royal College of Music, where she has taken a Master in Performance- degree. She is known for her stage presence and singing tone quality as well as conveying the stormful temperament of a Northern Norwegian. «She appears as a born soloist» – Jostein Pedersen
Elisabeth received recently a 2. prize in the Grand Virtuoso International Competition. She has also appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras such as the Arctic Philharmonic, under the direction of Christian Lindberg, The Oslo Chamber Orchestra, Barratt Due Symphony Orchestra in the Norwegian Opera House(conductor Dietrich Paredes), Toppen International Festival Orchestra (conductor Nicholas Carthy), with more. Her teaching experience includes being a faculty member at the Toppen International Summer Festival three years in a row as well as having privat students in various ages. Elisabeth is a certified Timani teacher (https://www.timani.no/en/) and will also start her Alexander technique teacher training from September 2017. She also plays the Norwegian National Instrument, the Harding Fiddle.
