"Before studying with Helen Keen at the Royal Academy of Music, I didn't have much confidence or interest in piccolo playing. Helen's inspiring teaching, musical sensitivity and clear instructions enabled my playing to flourish in a very short period of time. Within a year of studying with Helen, she had grown my confidence and ability so that I was able to be successful in competitions and auditions that I would have previously avoided.
What makes Helen a wonderful teacher is the same thing that makes her a wonderful player: it's her careful listening ear and great attention to detail. I was always able to trust that the advice she was giving me was specifically tailored to me and my playing. I would wholeheartedly recommend players of any age and ability to grab this opportunity to learn from Helen!" - Sally Palmer
