Testimonial

'My lessons with Julian have, quite simply, been marvellous.  He constantly improves my technique – with thorough attention to personal detail, yet always with great patience and kindness too.  Just as importantly, he teaches me to use that technique to develop and express musical understanding and imagination.  It is great fun and incredibly instructive to be tutored in playing the same passage in all sorts of different ways and characters.  And it is an inspiration, to be able to share in and absorb some of Julian’s vast professional experience and deep knowledge of the repertoire.  Within even a few months, I felt I was playing with greater comfort, ease, control and confidence.  Now, I revisit old pieces and think “was that really me who just played like that!?”.  All thanks to Julian.' - Michael
