From 2003-6 she was a member of the Royal Northern Sinfonia based at the Sage Gateshead. Since then she has been invited to play in principal positions in orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Opera House, English National Opera and the Halle Orchestra.

At the age of seventeen she won the LPO's international 'Young Soloist of the Year' competition which led to performances of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto in the QEH and RFH. She has played all the major violin concertos with various UK orchestras and more recently the Beethoven Triple concerto with the Philharmonie de Strasbourg and Brahms Double concerto with the Sofia Radio Symphony Orchestra.

She was chosen for the Countess of Munster recital scheme for two years running as well as the 'National Federation of Music Societies' artists' recital scheme. She has broadcast recitals on BBC Radio 3 - 'Young Artists' Forum' and 'Through the Night' from the Apollonia Festival.

Future projects for 2015 include a cd release with the Salonorchester Baden-Baden.

Lucy was born in London, was a music scholar at the Purcell School of Music and an Associated Board Scholar at the Royal College of Music with Itzhak Rashkovsky and Felix Andrievsky. She then finished her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with David Takeno, and as a Dean's Talent Scholar at Oberlin Conservatory of Music (USA) with Almita Vamos. While still a student at Oberlin College, she spent a semester in Berlin observing the teaching of the violist Kim Kashkashian. This was the beginning of a journey to find a balanced and free approach to playing, enabling intensity of sound and expression without unnecessary physical tension.

"Lucy Jeal plays in a joyous, singing style - What followed in the Queen Elizabeth Hall was an inspired affair. Mozart's Violin Concerto No 3 in G K216 was played by her in a manner both authoritative and persuasive." - The Strad.
