'Olyver and her splendid ensemble really get into the swing of things.... thrilling solos and flamboyance...a thoroughly toe tapping affair '

The Daily Telegraph

'Stunning...the thrill of the week!..The dizzy violin of Marianne Olyver shone brilliantly, as to the manner born'

The Independent

'Marianne has that perfect combination of high energy and compassionate understanding. She motivates and stretches her students to high and exciting places, but she also understands their individual needs in a very nurturing way. All students who work with her have a very special and exciting experience.'

Andrew Quartermain, CEO and Artistic Director, Pro Corda (International chamber music school)

'I learnt with Marianne between the ages of 9-13 and if it wasn’t for her, I don’t think I would be playing the violin today. She’s a fantastic teacher; full of passion and zeal. With her help I gained entry to Junior Royal Academy of Music, and I still go to her for advice. I would highly recommend her to any aspiring young musician or anyone in the business looking for some extra tips'

Melinda Blackman, former student and professional violinist/teacher.

'I started lessons with Marianne when I was 9 years old and had only just taken my Grade 1.  She has now been teaching me for 5 years and the improvement I have made is outstanding. I’m taking my grade 8 violin exam at the end of this year and I am now playing viola as well and leading various ensembles. Marianne has given me chances that have improved my playing and performance skills and also given me a fresh passion for music.  She has taught me performance tricks and given me tips on how to change my playing to suit various genres, ensembles, and even duet partners. Her teaching method is unique to every pupil she takes on, and the interest she takes in her individual pupils means that we are all like a little family. I am so lucky to have her as a teacher, I never stop learning and she makes music one of the best things in my life.'
