Rebecca Watson - Soprano
International Opera Singer
Rebecca studied at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. She made her operatic debut aged 22 singing the role of Silvia in L’Isola Disabitata, Haydn at the Teatro Naçional de São Carlos Lisbon, Portugal.
Rebecca has sung at ENO, The Royal Albert Hall, Festspielhaus Baden Baden and many other concert and operatic venues throughout Europe. Rebecca has had a varied singing career and as well as her opera and oratorio performances she has performed in concert at the O2, for the opening of the Davis Cup at the NEC, backing vocalist for Paul Potts on the Royal Variety Performance and singing backing vocals for Nik Kershaw. In December 2011 Rebecca recorded three folk songs on the album Celtic Skies featuring artists Andrea Corr and Damien Dempsey which was released in March 2012. Teaching has always been a passion that has run alongside Rebecca’s performing career. It is her aim to pass on her love of performing and to help students build confidence in their abilities. Rebecca specialises in classical and operatic singing and is happy to coach repertoire as well as teach technique, but she is very happy to teach music theatre repertoire and songs from film and stage too.
