Tom Norris - Violin
Co Principal Second Violin, London Symphony Orchestra
Tom Norris has been a member of the LSO since 1997, and is Co-Principal 2nd Violin.
His chamber music collaborations include the LSO Chamber Ensemble, The Schubert Ensemble, Living Room In London and Chamber Domaine. He was a semi-finalist in the 2010 Bordeaux International Chamber Music Competition with the Puertas Quartet, who have just released their second CD on Atoll records, and who have recently completed their third tour of New Zealand.
Tom studied at Chetham’s School of Music, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where his teachers were Gillian Sansom, David Takeno and Jack Glickman. He has attended masterclasses at Prussia Cove with Lorand Fenyves.
After a winter residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada, Tom was invited to join the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra as Principal 2nd Violin, performing as soloist with the orchestra, and giving concerts on national radio.
